AURORA — Police are investigating a suspicious death after a 21- year-old woman was found dead in her apartment Saturday night.
Aurora police went to the 15400 block of East 13th Avenue after a concerned caller asked them to check on a woman living there.
When officers arrived, they said, they found the woman’s car in the parking lot and went to knock on her door.
There was no answer, but police said the faint crying of an infant could be heard.
Officers forced their way in and said they found the woman dead and the baby alive.
Police do not think anyone else lived in the apartment with the woman. They are calling the death suspicious and are interviewing neighbors, family and friends.
Investigators said an autopsy is planned, and the coroner will identify the woman within the next few days.
Police said the infant was unharmed and has family in the area. 9News
