As part of a fundraiser for the nordic community in northern Colorado, Olympian Todd Lodwick is racing any and all takers Sunday in the “Lodwick Challenge” at The Home Ranch, just north of Steamboat Springs.
Lodwick will start last in the open race, which will have a staggered, mass start. The top 10 racers who finish after Lodwick will receive prizes.
All proceeds go to the Steamboat Springs Nordic Council to fund a new groomer for the popular Bruce’s Trail on Rabbit Ears Pass and future nordic trails on the new Emerald Mountain. The 3K challenge starts at 10 a.m. (preregistration is required). There are four race categories: kids, beginners, intermediates and racers.
