Area fly-fishers will have an unmatched opportunity to learn from and talk to experts Saturday at the 35th annual Fly Tying Clinic.
The event is sponsored by the West Denver Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and will run 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main pavilion of the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. It will feature 60 of the top fly-tyers from the Rocky Mountain region, including Pat Dorsey, Eric Pettine, Rick Takahashi, Roger Hill and Charlie Craven.
A beginners’ fly-tying table and bamboo-rod area with Alan Kube will be available, along with opportunities to buy flies, books, DVDs and other related merchandise. Free fly-casting instruction will be offered if the weather permits.
Tickets for adults will cost $10 at the door, with children under 12 admitted free. Discount coupons are available at area fly-fishing shops.
