BOULDER, Colo.—The software company behind programs like Spy Sweeper and Window Washer has let go of some employees following four acquisitions and two joint ventures in the past year.

Webroot spokeswoman MacLean Guthrie didn’t say how many employees were cut, but she told the Camera the layoffs amount to less than 10 percent of employees worldwide.

The Boulder-based company’s website says it has 470 employees across North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Guthrie says Webroot identified redundancies as it grew, which resulted in the cuts. Guthrie says the layoffs won’t affect the company’s planned move this month to an office tower in Broomfield. In June, Webroot signed a tax-incentive agreement with Broomfield to employ 220 people there.
