Bright Eyes, the main songwriting vehicle for prolific Omaha indie-folk artist Conor Oberst, is gathering raves for its forthcoming Saddle Creek album, “The People’s Key.” In typical Oberst fashion, it’s littered with sentiments both obscure and socially conscious, but it trades the rootsy Americana of recent work for a more mature, synth-pop sound. Self-important? Always, but newly accessible, too. Tickets for the band’s June 3 show at the Fillmore Auditorium are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($32.50-$35, )
Alan Jackson lacks the flashy sensibilities of some contemporary country artists, but that’s what makes him so refreshingly down-to-earth to his fans. His 16th studio album, “Freight Train,” is more of the same sturdy, honky-tonk- flecked songwriting from the Georgia native. He plays Loveland’s Budweiser Events Center on June 23. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($35-$58, )
Sarah McLachlan, Steve Earle, Old Crow Medicine Show and others have joined previously announced artists such as Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, the Sam Bush Band, Bela Fleck and the Original Flecktones, the Decemberists, Yonder Mountain String Band and many more on the lineup for the 38th annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, taking place June 16-19. Tickets are on sale. ($185 for four-day pass, )
Rise Against will promote its ominously titled sixth album, “Endgame,” with a North American tour that stops by the Fillmore Auditorium for shows April 15-16. Fellow punks Bad Religion and Four Year Strong will open. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($35-$38, )
Wanda Jackson, the rockabilly pioneer recently brought back to light by ego-driven revivalist Jack White, will hit the Boulder Theater April 1 (on sale today) and the Bluebird Theater April 3 (on sale Saturday) as part of the tour behind the White-produced new album, “The Party Ain’t Over.” ($20.50-$28.25, or Ticketmaster)
Adele falls on the more soulful side of the recent line of British pop singers, her husky, tightly controlled voice sounding older and more weathered than her 22 years. Tickets for her May 28 concert at the Ogden Theatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($27.50, Ticketmaster)
Xavier Rudd, the Australian singer-songwriter and one-man band, is an icon in the laid-back jam-folk scene, adored as much for his outspoken environmentalism as his tours with Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews Band. Tickets for his April 29 show at the Ogden Theatre are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($28, Ticketmaster)
Deftones added a second show to their previously announced (and now sold-out) April 22 set at the Ogden Theatre. Tickets for the April 23 performance are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($32.50, Ticketmaster)
