A spacecraft built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Inc. of Boulder will have its second close encounter with Comet Tempel 1 on Monday.
Shortly before 9 p.m. MST, NASA’s Stardust spacecraft will come within 124 miles of the comet, a few miles closer than the last rendezvous six years ago.
Between 300 and 400 Ball employees have worked on the mission through the years.
