Tonight construction crews will hoist a pedestrian bridge over East Colfax Avenue that will connect the Children’s Hospital with a new office complex known as Fitz 100. The 190-foot-long walkway and 167,000-square-foot office building are part of Fitzsimons Village, a mixed-use development directly across the street from the hospital.
Colfax Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Saturday to accommodate the bridge installation.
The elevated bridge will connect to the second floor of the Fitz 100 building, which opened on Tuesday. Children’s Hospital leased two floors of the facility to house its administrative employees, foundation staff and information technology support, said Mark Witkiewicz, senior vice-president of Corporex Colorado, the Englewood-based developer of the project.
