A truck crash on Loveland Pass shut down the highway for a couple of hours today as workers extracted the vehicle from a precarious perch.

The accident, involving a Federal Express truck, happened at about 12:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 6, said Trooper Heather Cobler, a Colorado State Patrol spokeswoman.

There were no injuries in the crash, but the truck was stuck in spot where it could slide down the mountainside, Cobler said.

Tow trucks and workers reeled in the truck while the highway was shut down as a safety precaution.

The pass, which was closed in both directions, reopened at about 2:30 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
