TROY, Ala. — Will Weathers had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Troy (7-17, 5-7 Sun Belt Conference) used a second-half spurt to defeat Denver (12-13, 8-4) 64-55 on Saturday night.

Tied at 36 with 13:02 to play, Troy used a 15-6 spurt to pull away and shot 57.1 percent in the second half (12 of 21). Denver got to 58-51 with 1:59 left on a layup by Chase Hallam, who led the Pioneers with 14 points, but the Trojans went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line to seal the win.

Nebraska-Kearney 82, Metro State 78

KEARNEY, Neb. — With only seven players dressed for the game, the short-handed Roadrunners (18-5, 14-4 RMAC) fell to the Lopers (10-13, 8-11).

Shakir Johnson led Metro State with a career-high 18 points, but the loss dropped the Roadrunners out of first place in the conference.

Colorado Mines 85, Colorado Christian 55

LAKEWOOD — Brett Green scored 24 points as the Orediggers (19-3, 15-3 RMAC) defeated the Cougars (7-15, 6-12). The win, combined with a Metro State loss, moves Colorado Mines into first place in the conference.

Montana 53, Northern Colorado 51

GREELEY — After trailing 45-30 with 15:08 left, the Bears (14-11, 9-3 Big Sky Conference) used a 14-0 run to pull within one, but the rally fell short. Montana (13-11, 8-3) made two free throws in the last 26 seconds.

D’shara Strange led Northern Colorado with 13 points, including back- to-back steals that sparked the rally.

Courtney Stoermer started in her 114th game for the Bears, breaking the school record of 113 career starts by Danielle Hagen (2003-08). Stoermer also recorded her 400th career assist and 200th career steal.

New Mexico 86, Colorado State 53

ALBUQUERQUE — The Rams (12-11, 5-5 Mountain West Conference) fell behind early, trailed by 23 points at halftime and could never quite catch the Lobos (9-13, 3-7) in their second straight loss.

New Mexico had 14 points off Colorado State’s nine turnovers through the first half, and finished with 21 points off 16 turnovers.

Kim Mestdagh scored a team-high 20 points for the Rams, her sixth game with at least 20 points

TCU 65, Wyoming 54

FORT WORTH, Texas — Aubrey Vandiver scored 24 points, but the Cowgirls (18-6, 8-3 MWC) fell short against the Frogs (17-8, 9-2), who had four players score in double digits.

Denver 66, Troy 43

TROY, Ala. — Britteni Rice scored 22 points and Kaetlyn Murdoch added 20 as the Pioneers (15-10, 7-5 Sun Belt) routed the Trojans (5-20, 2-10).

DU had only eight turnovers. Troy’s 17 turnovers led to 18 points for the Pioneers.

Metro St. 62, Nebraska-Kearney 60

KEARNEY, Neb. — Candice Kohn had a career-high four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points as the Roadrunners (22-1, 18-1 RMAC) won their seventh straight game with a victory over the Lopers (12-11, 11-8).

Colorado Christian 73, Colorado Mines 56

LAKEWOOD — Stephenie Allen scored 20 points to lead the Cougars (16-6, 14-4 RMAC) to a win over the Orediggers (7-16, 3-15).

Brecca Gaffney scored 16 to lead Colorado Mines.

Regis 80, Chadron State 75 (OT)

CHADRON, Neb. — Coming off a two-game slide, the Rangers snagged an overtime victory over the Chadron State Eagles.

Kaitie Vader scored a career-high 26 points for the Rangers (9-14, 8-11 RMAC). The Eagles fell to 5-18 and 3-16.

Lauren Luebbe added 16 points and Salina Kuiper and Chelsea Porter each scored 11 for Regis.
