Q: If I were to get into this new wave of smartphones, should I go iPhone, Droid or Windows? Currently have a BlackBerry. (@lakalt)

A: If you are a heavy texter, use a lot of data and don’t want to break the bank on monthly bills, an Android phone from Sprint — either the HTC Evo or Samsung Epic — may be the way to go. If you don’t consume an obscene amout of Internet data, prefer a simpler user interface and want every app and mobile game known to man, the iPhone is your best bet. Go with AT&T’s iPhone if you want faster Internet speeds, but if call quality is really important, go with Verizon’s. I’d steer clear of a Windows phone for now. Microsoft is playing catch- up. Keep in mind, a wave of 4G phones from all carriers will hit stores in the coming months.
