The family of a 9-year-old Aurora girl killed in a go-kart crash in August is suing the track, Grand Junction Motor Speedway, and others.
The suit filed Monday alleges Taybor Lee Duncan died after a track vehicle “recklessly” crossed into her path. She hit it at an estimated 50 mph and died from her injuries.
The lawsuit also names the sport’s California-based governing board, International Kart Federation, and the race’s organizer, Colorado Junior Karting Club, on claims that include gross negligence, recklessness, and willful and wanton conduct.
