Outward Bound Denver will honor Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl and retired quarterback Brian Griese at its annual Black Tie & Tennis Shoes Gala.
The April 14 event will be at Invesco Field, with plans being handled by an all-star leadership team that includes Piper and Chauncey Billups, Lauren and Nene Hilario, Sharon Magness Blake and Ernie Blake, Libby and Tim Brown and George Stein.
Karl, a cancer survivor, is an active supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society. Griese, a former Denver Bronco, founded Judi’s House in 2002 to help children who have lost a parent or loved one. One of the healing tools utilized by Judi’s House is a wilderness experience with Outward Bound.
