Love was in the air, in the ears — hell it was in every pore of photographer Lucia De Giovanni’s “The Love Project” gallery showing and acoustic concert on Sunday night at the RiNo Community Space.

Which is why I could only stay for part of the musical program that included members of Bob Skizzum, the John Common Band and Mike Marchant playing Valentine’s Day-inspired love songs.

Friends, strangers and subjects packed the gallery in waves as a musical lineup continued that was expected to also include Melissa Axel, James Jacoby, Jessica DeNicola, Jessica Craig, Sam Gatham, Dave Preston, Andy Rok, Mane Rok, Rob Drabkin, Mike Trujillo and Ryan Gombeski.

Couples who posed for De Giovanni’s “Love Project” portraits mooned at each other and their photos on the wall, part of a collection of more than 100 snapshots of couples in love.

What was all the fuss — and the kissing and the hugging about? Read all about Lucia’s “The Love Project” here.
