No mousing around
Look for the Evergreen Cat Lodge, a 2-year- old boarding facility that owners characterize as “a first-class hotel — for cats only!” on the new Animal Planet series “Must Love Cats,” airing tonight. The Cat Lodge is a former bed and breakfast that has been extensively remodeled to provide 32 feline suites. It was well suited to the new Animal Planet show, in which the cat-happy and crooning host, John Fulton, travels the country in search of the best kitty care and stories. During his day filming in Evergreen, Fulton helped Cat Lodge proprietors prepare custom meals for kitty clients (fresh green beans over raw seafood), helped boarders check in and check out, bathed a kitten, tidied up rooms and capped it all off with a song. Seventy-five years young
The iconic Kit-Cat Klock, an art deco novelty so popular that makers estimate one sells about every 3 minutes, turns 75 this year. But it looks much the same as it did upon its released in 1932 with the same bobbly cartoon eyes and wagging pendulum tail. To mark the anniversary of the clock’s release, the 20th Century Emporium in Lakewood is stocking the 75th Anniversary Edition Kit-Cat Klock, packaged in the originally designed box. The clocks are $60. The 20th Century Emporium is located inside Lakewood’s Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow St., Lakewood. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
