Creative cocktailing.
The modern-day speakeasy movement found its way to Denver when restaurateur Frank Bonanno opened Green Russell below Larimer Square in November.
Coming soon, Todd Colehour and his business partners will add a second speakeasy spot to the Denver landscape with Williams & Graham, “a Prohibition-inspired speakeasy with a modern twist” at 3160 Tejon St.
The building’s false front will look like a bookstore with a hostess disguised as a bookstore clerk.
“She’ll open up a secret door, and there will be a bar behind it,” Colehour said about the space he hopes to open in late spring or early summer.
Although the speakeasy movement has been in New York for a few years, Colehour said he got his inspiration for Williams & Graham from watching a History Channel show on Prohibition.
While the emphasis will be on cocktails created by master mixologists (chefs behind the bar), the limited menu will also offer appetizers, three to four entrees and four to six desserts.
“We will try to marry seasonal cocktails and the food menu,” Colehour said.
We’re No. 1.
According to the statistics keepers at Visit Denver, Denver’s Restaurant Weeks will offer more eatery choices than any other similar program in the country.

Los Angeles also trimmed busy Saturday business from the meal deal. Denver’s Restaurant Weeks — Feb. 26- March 11 — include two Saturdays during the discount period that offers multi-course meals for two for $52.80 or $26.40 for one.
Among the participants are all six of Denver’s 2011 AAA Four Diamond award winners — Panzano, Colt & Gray, Mizuna, Rioja, Restaurant Kevin Taylor and Palace Arms.

Dog food delivered.
I told you last June that former Chipotle Mexican Grill marketing man Jim Adams‘ career had gone to the dogs when he launched Redbud’s Raw, a locally made all- natural raw dog food company.
At the time, the product was available only at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market, but now the dog food company has expanded into local retailers and is offering free home delivery for metro-area subscribers who order 10 pounds of food or more.
During February and March, new customers will receive two free pounds of food with a minimum eight-pound order. More information: .
