Tickets for the Rapids’ first eight home games of the 2011 season go on sale today, and seven matches played by the reigning MLS champions will be televised by the Fox Soccer Channel.
Tickets will be available at 10 a.m. at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park box office in Commerce City. They’re also available by phone (303-53-HORSE), at any Dick’s Sporting Goods kiosk in the state and online at . Tickets for the Rapids’ other home games will go on sale at a later date.
The first Rapids game televised by FSC will be the season opener March 19 against Portland at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Stealth stomps Mammoth.
Colorado Mammoth goaltender Chris Levis was pulled after allowing six goals on 17 shots Friday, and the host Washington Stealth rolled to a 20-7 win. The Stealth led 11-2 at halftime after outshooting Colorado 36-20 in the first half.
Alex Gajic scored three of the Mammoth’s seven goals.
Arizona State hires CSU coach.
Colorado State linebackers coach Scott Brown has moved to Arizona State to coach the Sun Devils’ defensive line.
CSU head coach Steve Fairchild said he wants to have the vacancy on the Rams’ staff filled in time for the start of spring football practice in late March.
