CHICAGO — The Chicago Blackhawks say coach Joel Quenneville was released from the hospital after being treated for gastrointestinal bleeding brought on by a small ulcer.
In a statement released, team physician Dr. Michael Terry says Quenneville is “resting comfortably at home” and that a full recovery is expected.
It is not clear when the 52-year- old Quenneville, who coached the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup championship last season, will return.
The Blackhawks’ next game is today against Pittsburgh. Assistant Mike Haviland has been coaching the team in Quenneville’s absence.
• The Edmonton Oilers placed disgruntled defenseman Sheldon Souray on re-entry waivers, making him available to the other 29 NHL teams at a discounted price.
• The Minnesota Wild have recalled center Cody Almond from its minor-league affiliate.
Roddick reaches finals
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Andy Roddick beat Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina 6-3, 6-4 in the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships to advance to his 50th career tournament final.
Roddick will play Milos Raonic of Canada, a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 winner over Mardy Fish, in the championship today looking for his 30th title overall.
• Tommy Robredo defeated David Nalbandian 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semifinals of the Copa Claro clay- court tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Robredo will meet top-seeded Nicolas Almagro in the semifinals after he defeated Jose Acasuso 7-5, 6-3.
• Robin Soderling of Sweden will play Marin Cilic of Croatia in the final of the Open 13 today in Marseille, France.
Soderling beat Dmitry Tursunov of Russia 7-5, 6-1 and Cilic edged Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
• Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki got off to a slow start, but lifted her game for a 7-5, 6-3 semifinal win over Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic in the Dubai Championships in the United Arab Emirates. Wozniacki will face Svetland Kuznetsova in today’s final. Kuznetsova beat Italy’s Flavia Pennetta 6-4, 6-4.

Five-time Olympic swimmer Dara Torres is back in the pool after a 16-month layoff for major knee surgery with a goal of reaching the 2012 London Games.
The 43-year-old Torres returned to competition at the Missouri Grand Prix in Columbia with a time of 25.9 seconds in the 50- meter freestyle prelims, a mark that qualifies her for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. She finished sixth in the finals.
• Jockey Eibar Coa fell from his horse and suffered a serious neck injury at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Fla. Coa broke his C-4 vertebrae in the fall.
• Bob de Jong and Marrit Leenstra gave the Dutch a sweep of golds at the World Cup speedskating events at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns.
• Felix Sturm defended his WBA middleweight title by knocking out Ronald Hearns in Stuttgart, Germany.
