The western Colorado mountains can expect to see fresh snow tonight, with most of western Colorado under a winter weather advisory.

The National Weather service predicts that some areas west of Denver could receive 4 to 8 inches of snowfall overnight, with another 1 to 3 inches to fall Sunday. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday and includes south and southeast Grand County, west central and southwest Boulder County and Gilpin, Clear Creek and Summit counties.

Several areas west of Steamboat Springs are under a winter storm watch, which is also in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday. Those areas can expect 8 to 11 inches of snow overnight.

Most of the snow is expected to fall tonight and early Sunday morning, with only a 20 percent chance of snow by Monday morning.
