LITTLETON — Littleton fire officials trekked a quarter mile onto the ice- covered Chatfield Reservoir on Sunday morning to rescue a kite surfer who had crashed.
Authorities believe a gust of wind knocked over the unidentified woman at about 10:45 a.m. She was wearing protective gear and was flown to a nearby hospital and checked for injuries, according to Bureau Chief Jay Ruoff. “It was a good outcome for everybody,” Ruoff said.
