DENVER—A Colorado Democrat is proposing that school districts and charter schools develop plans to increase parental involvement by the summer of 2012.

House Bill 1126 would also require school districts to have annual reviews of how their policies are working. Rep. Crisanta Duran’s bill was approved on a voice vote Monday and will be voted on once more before the Senate reviews it.

Under the bill, school districts would cooperate with parents to create and adopt a parental involvement plan.
