A new preschool-through-eighth-grade school at Stapleton

What’s happening: Construction of a new school in the Stapleton community of northeast Denver. The project is funded through Denver Public School’s 2008 general obligation bond loan, in partnership with the City and County of Denver, Denver Urban Renewal Authority and Forest City Stapleton.
The details: The 99,500-square-foot project will include 38 to 40 instructional rooms, administrative offices, a cafeteria, commercial-grade kitchen and gymnasium with associated support spaces. Chuck Raisch is the principal. A special multipurpose space that will serve as a media center, community room and performing arts venue also is planned for the building. Smaller multipurpose areas within the classroom zones will provide added space for instruction and group activities. Sustainability features are incorporated throughout the facility.
