AURORA, Colo.—A school administrator in the Denver suburb of Aurora has been charged with asking students to erase cell phone video of a fight that prompted assault charges against another student.
Forty-one-year-old Anthony Ray Campos, assistant principal at Horizon Community Middle School, faces a charge of solicitation to commit tampering of physical evidence.
Tustin Amole, spokeswoman for Cherry Creek Public Schools, said Thursday Campos declined to comment. District officials say they found no wrongdoing by Campos.
Amole tells The Aurora Sentinel that Campos wanted to keep the video from being posted on YouTube or otherwise widely shown, and not to destroy evidence.
The Sentinel reports the fight was between two girls last month. Aurora police Sgt. Cassidee Carlson says one of the girls faces a felony assault charge in juvenile court.
