The Weld County Sheriff’s Department this afternoon released the sketch of a man whose own face was as distinctive as the clown T-shirt he wore when he carried a pistol into a stranger’s home in Severance Monday afternoon.
The intruder was ultimately chased off by the family’s dogs, though three people were in the home, including two younger than 18, the Sheriff’s Department said today.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. Monday on Broadview Drive, when the man walked in an unlocked front door.
He was wearing a black ski mask when he went in the house, but witnesses saw him before he put on the mask. They said he was Hispanic or African-American with blue eyes, 17 to 21 years old and about 6 feet tall, the Sheriff’s Department said.
He had a blue teardrop tattoo below the right eye. He also had an injury on his left side of his head that included stitches and something that resembled shiny metal. His hair, a short afro, was shaved from around the injury, the Sheriff’s Department said.
His face had dark freckles, bumps, or a rash across his nose and cheeks, as well as a mole along his right jawline, a bump on his right temple and a dark spot on the left side of his neck, witnesses told authorities.
His gray T-shirt’s design was a white clown face with a red smile, red hair and a rainbow hat. The Nike swoosh and the brand’s slogan, “Just Do It,” were above the face. He also wore black baggy pants.
