LAKEWOOD—Rep. Ed Perlmutter is headed back to the grocery store.
The Democratic congressman planned a “Government in the Grocery” meeting with constituents Saturday, his first since the Arizona shootings at a similar gathering at a Safeway in Tucson injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Perlmutter’s office says the meeting in Lakewood is the first official congressional constituent meeting at a Safeway store since the Tucson shootings last month.
Perlmutter called off a grocery meeting after that attack. Perlmutter called off another one last weekend because of a weekend budget debate in Washington.
