CURRENT ARMY TEST
The Army’s physical fitness test is given twice a year and consists of:
•Two minutes of push-ups
•Two minutes of sit-ups.
•A timed 2-mile run.
TWO NEW TESTS
The physical readiness test, which may be given twice a year, would consist of:
•A 60-yard progressive shuttle run.
•One minute of a “rower” exercise.
•A standing long jump.
•One minute of push-ups.
•A timed 1.5-mile run.
The annual combat readiness test would consist of:
•A 400-meter run with weapon.
•Individual movements that include vaulting, hurdling, crawling, and sideways, balanced movement while aiming a weapon.
•A casualty drag of a 180-pound sled.
•A back-and-forth sprint over a balance beam carrying 30-pound canisters of ammunition.
•An agility sprint through a field of cones.
