When it comes to being miserable, we’re lousy. In Forbes magazine’s rankings of the nation’s “most miserable sports cities,” the Emerald City was the top gem. Following top-ranked Seattle were Atlanta; Phoenix; Buffalo, N.Y.; San Diego; Houston; Kansas City, Mo.; Cleveland and, yes, at No. 9, the Mile High City, one spot ahead of Cincinnati. The magazine cites only four championships in 123 seasons between the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets and Rockies. Obviously, the Forbes editors didn’t want to include soccer. Probably because in futbol, our champion Rapids kick some Forbes booty. Denver Post wire services
