A grand jury on Thursday indicted a Broomfield man on 20 counts of various forms of theft for stealing more than $93,000 worth of property from Front Range golf courses.
The burglaries took place between November 2009 and June 2010 at multiple locations including Stoney Creek Golf Course, Green Gables Country Club and Rolling Hills Golf Course.
According to the indictment, Mark Friel, 44, would cut padlocks to gain access to the golf courses, and would cut phone lines and damage electricity circuits and security systems.
Among the items that Friel took, according to the indictment, were golf clubs, computers, power tools, gasoline, audio equipment and $70 worth of chocolate muscle milk.
Broomfield Police Department led the investigation, dubbed “Operation Caddy Shack.”
