Colorado State: The Rams are looking to spring an upset heading into next week’s Mountain West Tournament with 20 wins. . . . CSU forward Andy Ogide is one of the few players in the MWC who can go up against San Diego State’s superb inside game with Billy White, Kawhi Leonard and Malcolm Thomas. . . . The Rams haven’t been completely written out of the NCAA Tournament but a win tonight against the No. 9 Aztecs would be a major lift. . . . The Rams won’t be intimidated by another San Diego State sellout crowd. “I think that’s a great time to play them. I know how emotional senior nights are,” CSU coach Tim Miles said. “Our guys aren’t going to back down.”
San Diego State: Last week the Aztecs lost the “game of the year” to BYU, but are still in position to at least share the MWC title with the Cougars. . . . The improbable turn of events at BYU came down with center Brandon Davies lost to a school honor code violation. BYU fell to New Mexico. San Diego State goes back into contention for the MWC’s highest NCAA seed. . . . The game is a sellout.
