PUEBLO, Colo.—Authorities say a Pueblo police officer faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly being involved in an altercation with a colleague.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports Sunday that interim police Chief Luis Velez says 30-year-old Jonathan Adams is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. Velez says he can’t talk about the specifics of what happened other than to say Adams is suspected of being involved in an altercation at police headquarters with a female officer.
Court records show Adams faces charges of third-degree assault, harassment and menacing. The charges were filed Feb. 22
Adams received the department’s Life Saving Award in 2009 for saving a suicidal man.
