Metro Denver has the cheapest gasoline in a survey of 10 U.S. cities conducted by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.

Metro Denver’s average Monday for a gallon of regular was $3.30, according to the DOE. The highest price of the 10 cities surveyed was San Francisco at $3.92.

The report also showed Colorado having the lowest statewide average — $3.33 for regular — among nine states surveyed.

The state with the highest price was California at $3.87.

Gasoline prices nationwide have been rising rapidly over the past three weeks as fears of possible supply disruptions in the Mideast have driven up crude oil prices.
