BOULDER, Colo.—Katelyn McDaniel scored 23 points and had 12 rebounds and Liza Heap added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the Highlands Ranch Falcons 73-40 victory over the ThunderRidge Grizzlies Wednesday night in the Class 5A semifinals.
Top-seeded Highlands Ranch (24-3) will play No. 2 Regis Jesuit (20-7) for the 5A title on Friday night. The game is a rematch of the 2008 final, won by Highlands Ranch.
The Falcons, who never trailed in the game, led 28-20 at halftime.
No. 1 ThunderRidge (22-5), led by Carlie Needles’ 17 points, shot just 28 percent from the field to Highlands Ranch’s 48 percent.
ThunderRidge, also from Highlands Ranch, lost to its Continental League foe the second time this season.
