COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Prosecutors have filed felony charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident against a woman accused of being the driver of an SUV that dragged a tow truck driver in Colorado Springs more than a mile to his death.
The Gazette reports that prosecutors also charged Detra Dione Farries with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, as well as seven traffic offenses that include running two stop signs and reckless driving. Farries appeared in court Wednesday.
Farries is accused of causing the death of Allen Lew Rose on Feb. 23 when his leg was caught in a towing cable attached to an SUV. Farries remains free on $50,000 bond. She also faces a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Rose’s widow.
