FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Beth Chaney scored 21 points and Eaton held off Pagosa Springs 38-33 in the 3A girls semifinals on Friday night in Fort Collins.
Eaton (23-3) won despite 26 percent shooting.
Mary Eaton led Pagosa Springs (23-1) with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Chaney’s 16 points on three, 3-pointers staked Eaton to a 19-13 halftime lead. Pagosa Springs took a 24-22 lead into the fourth quarter, holding Eaton to 0-for-10 shooting and three free throws in the third quarter.
Eaton needed six points from Karli Jelden to take a 36-33 lead with 19 seconds left. Breezy Bryant missed a 3-point shot for Pagosa Springs to tie the game with three seconds remaining.
