BOULDER, Colo.—Katelyn McDaniel scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Friday night as the Highlands Ranch Falcons beat the Regis Jesuit Raiders 67-50 in the Class 5A state championship.
With the victory, top-seeded Highlands Ranch (25-3) claimed its seventh girls basketball title since 2000.
Michaela Neuhaus added 16 points for the Falcons, who ended the season with 18 consecutive wins.
No. 2 Regis Jesuit (20-8), which lost to its Continental League rival for the third time this season, was led by Marquelle Dent, who scored 14 points for the Aurora school.
The Continental League has dominated the 5A girls playoffs, winning 11 of the last 12 state championships.
