International logistics provider ProLogis has confirmed that all its employees in Japan are safe following a massive earthquake and tsunami that rocked the country Thursday.
Because the disaster has affected transportation in Japan, the Denver-based company has not been able to determine the extent of the damage to its properties, which have earthquake protection engineered into the buildings. The company has one 436,000-square-foot building in Sendai, Japan.
“We are working to confirm the extent of damage to our property in Sendai,” according to a statement on the company’s web site. “We have been informed that the area was affected by the tsunami following the earthquake; however, we have confirmed that the people working in the facility are safe. As soon as it is safe to travel to that region, we will provide an assessment of the damages.”
