LIMON, Colo.—A woman who lived with a man suspected of fatally shooting a police officer in eastern Colorado has been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony.
The Denver Post reports that 50-year-old Jackie Hasty appeared in court Friday and is being held on $250,000 bond. No formal charges have been filed against her.
Authorities say Hasty was home in Limon Wednesday when 27-year-old police officer Jay Sheridan was shot and killed. They say Sheridan was shot when officers tried to serve a warrant to 52-year-old Dennis Mark Hasty, who was wanted on a sex offender registry violation from Roane County in Tennessee.
Officers say they found Dennis Hasty’s body after a four-hour standoff, and that he apparently shot himself.
