Colorado State will host Fairfield in the first round of the NIT at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Stags were 24-7 overall, 15-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference this season.
CSU is the No. 3 seed in the regional in which Colorado is the top seed.
“At this point I don’t know anything about them, other than they did very well in the regular season in a very good league,” CSU coach Tim Miles said. “Those Northeastern teams are always very good. I’m excited we have a home game.”

The Rams practiced Sunday before watching the NIT draw. Adam Nigon, who missed Thursday’s Mountain West Tournament quarterfinals with a toe injury, did not practice but is expected to play Tuesday.
Said Miles: “Knowing Adam, you’d have to cut off the toe to keep him off the floor Tuesday.”
Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. today. Season-ticket holders and Ram Club members will get first priority. This is spring break week, which might prevent CSU from matching the strong student turnout of the last few weeks in Moby Arena.
