The Rapids signed forward Caleb Folan on Wednesday and will add him to the roster pending receipt of his work visa and international transfer certificate.
Folan competed for English League Two club Chesterfield from 2002-07, playing in 102 league games and scoring 14 goals. He also played for Wigan Athletic from 2006-08, scoring two goals in 15 games, and signed with English Football League Championship team Hull City, for which he played in 58 league matches from 2007-11 and scored 12 goals.
Folan has seven caps with the Irish national team. He was born in England but qualifies to play for the Irish via his grandparents.
UNC women’s coach White shares Big Sky honor.
Northern Colorado women’s basketball coach Jaime White and Portland State coach Sherri Murrell were named the Big Sky Conference co-coaches of the year.
In her fifth season with the Bears, White led the team to a 17-13 record, going 12-4 in conference play to share the title with Portland State.
This is the first time either coach has been named coach of the year.
Playoff tickets for Eagles go on sale Friday.
Tickets for the Colorado Eagles playoff games at the Budweiser Events Center will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Game dates, times and the opponent are yet to be determined, as final playoff seedings won’t be known until the end of the regular season March 27.
