Firefighters are focusing on hot spots and shoring up containment lines after a wind-driven blaze in Black Forest burned down a barn and came within feet of a home.
The fire broke out in the 12000 block of Holmes Road, blackening grassy fields near Black Forest and Shoup roads. But as of 2 p.m., flames could no longer be seen and it appeared the fire was mostly contained.
It wasn’t clear what caused the blaze northeast of Colorado Springs.
