Rapids forward Omar Cummings and midfielder Sanna Nyassi have been summoned by their respective national teams for international play.
Cummings has been called up by the Jamaican National Team for its international friendlies against Venezuela on March 25 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and El Salvador on March 27 in San Salvador, El Salvador. Nyassi will join the Gambian team for its friendly against host Equatorial Guinea on March 29 in Malabo.
As a result of the callups, both Cummings and Nyassi will miss the Rapids’ March 26 game against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
The Rapids open defense of their 2010 MLS Cup championship Saturday when they welcome the expansion Portland Timbers to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
