Aurora police are investigating the death of 53-year-old Timothy “Birdman” Blackburn, who was found injured in the yard of an Aurora home Monday afternoon.

Blackburn was rushed to a hospital but died from his injuries, police said. They have not publicly characterized the injuries, however, and no information about a suspect has been released.

There is a $4,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction, however. Anyone with information can call Detective Hershel Stowell at 303-739-6079 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867

Records show Blackburn had numerous arrests in Denver, Adams and Arapahoe counties dating back to 1983, including at least four jail or prison sentences for drug possession and sale.

He was found about 5 p.m. Monday in the 10300 block of East 16th Avenue, according to Aurora police.

Blackburn lived about two blocks from where his body was found, records show. He previously lived at an Englewood address owned by Correctional Management Inc.

His profession was listed as “journeyman plumber,” but records show his plumbing license expired in 2004.
