The eighth annual Vail Film Festival is scheduled March 31-April 3. Festival activities include film screenings, panel discussions, live music, nightly galas and a filmmaker reception. Fat Tire time.
At the New Belgium Brewing Fruita Fat Tire Festival, April 28-May 1, visitors can experience some of Colorado’s best mountain biking, check out the latest bike industry products at the Bike Expo in Fruita’s Civic Center Park and join road rides through the Colorado National Monument, over Douglas Pass and through wine country.
Jazz and more.
Estes Park ushers in springtime and celebrates its unofficial kickoff of summer with two days of jazz, arts and culture May 14-15. Visitors can enjoy live jazz performances at Performance Park and visit the town’s many art galleries and shops.
Balloons and art.
The Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park, now in their 31st and 37 years, respectively, are summer staples in Steamboat Springs. On July 9 and 10, visitors can watch more than 40 hot-air balloons rise from Bald Eagle Lake and drift over the Yampa Valley. Afterward, visitors head to West Lincoln Park for Steamboat’s biggest arts and crafts festival. or 970-879-0880
