When the Vail Film Festival announced its upcoming slate films and special award recipients, actors Kate Bosworth and Michael Imperioli, it also stated it plans to donate 5 percent of overall ticket sales for the fest (March 21-April 3) to aid American Red Cross disaster-relief efforts in Japan. Vail’s fest isn’t the only film organization pitching in. Today, the Denver Film Society announced it will hold special screenings of cult director Takeshi Miike’s samurai flick “13 Assassins” at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax (Sat. 10:15 p.m.; Sun. 1 p.m.). All proceeds from $15 ticket sales go to Global Giving’s Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund.
