ALBANY, N.Y. — A state official familiar with an investigation of a fatal tour bus crash in New York City said a single checkpoint in a sting operation has resulted in 14 out of 14 buses ordered off the road.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo directed the sting operation in the wake of the bus crash last weekend in the Bronx that killed 15 people.
The official said State Transportation Department investigators found 10 major vehicle issues and 40 minor infractions among the 14 buses that were stopped Friday in Manhattan.
