The No. 10-ranked Air Force men’s gymnastics team concluded the regular season Sunday with a program-best team score of 347.5 against Washington (238.7).
AFA freshman Colton Wulf scored a 15.4 to win the floor exercise and move into first on the program’s all-time list, breaking Greg Stine’s 2008 record of 15.2. The Falcons also set academy records on the floor exercise (59.6), still rings (59.4) and parallel bars (57.1).
The defending team champion Falcons will compete in the USAG Collegiate National Championships this weekend in Springfield, Mass.
Falcons sweep Portland.
Air Force baseball completed a four-game series sweep of Portland with a 10-2 win at Falcon Field. The Falcons have won five of six and improved to 11-10, while the Pilots fell to 8-10.
Michael Ceci (2-3) pitched six innings, giving up just two runs for the victory.
Air Force completed its first series sweep of an opponent since 2003 and has its first four-game winning streak since 2002.
Mines’ Fuller throws shutout.
Colorado Mines blanked Mesa State 2-0 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference baseball game at Darden Field in Golden. The Orediggers’ Mike Fuller allowed two hits, no walks and struck out seven. Fuller needed only 88 pitches (65 strikes) in the complete-game shutout.
The Orediggers (4-17, 2-10) had seven hits and did not commit an error. Starter Jared Christensen took the loss for the Mavericks (11-7, 9-3).
