Wilson Chandler has dealt with one ankle issue after another since being drafted into the NBA, and those problems don’t appear to be behind him.
The Nuggets forward was a late scratch for Friday night’s game against the Wizards because of a chronically bad left ankle, which coach George Karl said needs rest.
“We have an opportunity to rest his foot for five or six days,” Karl said.
The Nuggets do not play again until Wednesday against Sacramento. For Chandler, this could become a dicey issue.
On June 3, 2008, Chandler had surgery on his left ankle to remove bone spurs, and nine months later he had surgery to remove scar tissue.
Gary Forbes started in Chandler’s place.
