Two people who died after a shooting late Wednesday that also left three people injured have been identified.

Amara Kamoh Sayon, 22, was pronounced dead en route to a hospital early Thursday. The second victim, Cherise Houston, 25, died at the scene.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. at the Windsor Court Apartments, 900 S. Quince St., near Leetsdale Drive and South Quebec Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they found three men and two women, all with gunshot wounds.

According to the Denver medical examiner’s office, Sayon died from a gunshot to the chest. Houston died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Both deaths have been ruled homicides.

Denver police are still looking for two men they believe are involved in the shooting.

Before police were called, two men entered the apartment and started a fight with one of the male victims.

At least one of those men opened fire inside the apartment.

The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. Some witnesses saw a small, dark vehicle leave the area.

Detectives said the apartment appears to have been targeted by the men.

The shooting remains under investigation.
