SANDY, Utah — Javier Morales scored twice and added an assist to lead Real Salt Lake to a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night.
Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 10th minute and beat Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders from 20 yards in the 41st. Morales assisted on Andy Williams’ goal in the 2nd minute for RSL, which led 3-0 at halftime.
Paulo Araujo Jr. scored in the 68th minute on a pass from Fabian Espindola.
RSL extended its MLS unbeaten streak to 16 games, three shy of the league record shared by FC Dallas (2010) and Columbus (2004-05). RSL hasn’t lost at home in the regular season since May 16, 2009, a span of 26 games.

CHESTER, Pa. — Carlos Ruiz scored in the 77th minute, and Philadelphia got its second straight 1-0 shutout for Colombian goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon.
The second-year Union handed expansion Vancouver a loss in its first MLS road game.
It was the second consecutive victory for the Union, who went 8-15-7 in last year’s inaugural season.
“I’m very happy for my teammates and for the fans,” Mondragon said.
“The guys on this team have put a lot of faith and trust in me, and I’m so thankful for it. Winning two in a row with shutouts is obviously a great feeling.”
The Union managed just two shutouts as an expansion club, tying a MLS record for fewest in a season.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Zack Schilawski scored his first goal of the season, and Shalrie Joseph converted a penalty kick.
New England was awarded a penalty kick after United’s Dax McCarty inadvertently swung his leg out to clear a ball in the penalty box area and sideswiped Revolution midfielder Pat Phelan. Joseph scored his ninth career penalty-kick goal for New England in the 17th minute, drilling a shot off goalie Pat Onstad’s left hand into the lower right corner of the net for a 2-0 lead.
