DENVER—A Colorado judge ruled that a man accused of killing his ex-wife’s suspected lover and wounding a judge presiding over his divorce has enough money to pay for his own defense.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Saturday that a judge ruled March 18 that Bruce Nozolino’s assets of more than $221,000 make him ineligible for a public attorney. The 49-year-old is also accused of wounding his ex-wife’s divorce attorney. Nozolino is being held on $10 million bail in El Paso County.
He faces several charges, including first-degree murder in the Nov. 30, 2008, slaying of Richard Shreiner, and two charges of attempted murder in the Jan. 23, 2002, shooting that wounded divorce attorney John Ciccolella, and a shot fired into Judge Gilbert Martinez’s home on Oct. 13, 2001.
