More than 400 disabled veterans were surprised Sunday evening by Vice President Joe Biden. Biden stopped by the opening ceremony of the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village to thank them.
The clinic is in its 25th year. It brings hundreds of disabled veterans to Colorado each year to participate in winter sports.
“I think it’s pretty awesome. Veterans have given a lot for this country,” Jim Kellis, a disabled veteran, said.
Biden told them: “You’re a remarkable group of people, a group that has never feared the future.”
